This past weekend, we again celebrated Jackson’s first birthday, this time in Kentucky with the paternal branch of the family tree. Initially, the event was to be a combined party celebrating Jackson’s birthday, a few other family birthdays, and a couple of anniversaries. However, it quickly became clear that our little man was the focus of the evening. Jackson was handsomely dressed and very well-behaved…not sure where all that comes from. Thanks to all who attended to support Jackson and our family. When many friends and family see Jackson for the first time in a while, it is almost hard to believe that there is something “wrong” with him. He looks beautiful, eats well, smiles socially, and babbles. That is one of the double-edged swords of his condition. We will be able to grow into caring for him over time, but his developmental delays will only get larger and larger over that same time.
Again, thanks to all who came out. And to follow-up on previous posts, yes, we did wear shoes. The final guest count was 31, the final teeth count is still being calculated, but forecasts are between 32 and 33.
